Technology and national security have always been inseparably linked as illustrated by the Manhattan Project. Without strong manufacturing as supported by world leading science and technology sectors America puts itself in a severely compromised position. Without a strong patent system to support them we cannot have strong science and technology sectors. A patent system which forces inventors to fight years to get their patents to only lose them in unconstitutional administrative procedures and then if by some miracle inventors come out with any kind of functional patent they have to fight a judicial system and laws which deny their rights to a property they have dearly paid for and most always invested their family’s security in. How is that justice and how by even the most twisted and forced reasoning can anyone believe such a system will encourage scientists and technologists to even try to innovate and create new technologies that will lead America into the next economy and through the countless wars madmen and sycophants will undoubtedly drag us into? Jefferson and other founders understood the importance to American defense and our way of life:
